Tennis Coaching

Local low-cost coaching on a court near you!

Three Rivers District Council together with its partners offer a comprehensive tennis programme at courts across the district. Whether you've never picked up a racket before or are a seasoned regular there is no excuse not to come down. All ability levels are welcome. Rackets and balls will be provided at every session and absolutely anyone can get involved. No booking is required so you can just turn up and play.

 

Mini Coaching

Perfect for children aged between 4 and 10 years with smaller courts, nets and rackets and lower bouncing balls. Mini Tennis offers the perfect introduction to the sport, with all the fun and energy of the real thing.

Sessions take place at the following locations:

  • Scotsbridge Playing Fields, Saturdays, 10.30am-11.30am, £4 per person (April-Oct 2017)
  • South Oxhey Playing Fields, Saturdays, 10am-11am, £3 per person (Year round)
  • Eastbury Tennis Courts, Tuesdays (term-time only), 3.30pm-4.30pm, £3 per person (April-Oct 2017)

Junior Coaching

For ages 11+. No matter what your ability you’ll have fun on court with other junior players your age. Coaches will be on hand to offer tips to help your game and advice on how you can continue to play.

Sessions take place at the following locations:

  • South Oxhey Playing Fields, Saturdays, 11am-12pm, £3 per person (Year round)

Adult Coaching

Ideal for people new to the sport or who haven’t picked up a racket in a long time. You can borrow our rackets if you don’t have your own, just come prepared to hit a few balls and have some fun. 

Sessions take place at the following locations:

  • Scotsbridge Playing Fields, Saturdays, 11.30am-12.30pm, £4 per person (April-Oct 2017)
  • South Oxhey Playing Fields, Saturdays, 11am-12pm, £3 per person (Year round)
  • Eastbury Tennis Courts, Tuesdays (term-time only), 9.15am-10.15am, £3 per person (Year round)

 

Where can I play tennis in Three Rivers? 

Three Rivers District Council provides completly free, open access public courts at the following locations. No booking is required and you can turn up and play on a first-come first-served basis:

  • Abbots Langley - Manor House Grounds (WD5 0DD). One court.
  • Abbots Langley - Leavesden Country Park (WD25 0LA). Two courts.*
  • Chorleywood - Chorleywood House Grounds (WD3 5SL). Three courts.
  • Croxley Green - Baldwins Lane Playing Fields (WD3 3LE). Two courts.
  • Eastbury - Eastbury Tennis Courts (HA6 3HE). Four courts.
  • Maple Cross - Denham Way Playing Fields (WD3 9SL). Two courts.
  • Rickmansworth - Scotsbridge Playing Fields (WD3 1AT). Three courts.
  • South Oxhey - South Oxhey Playing Fields (WD19 4LS). Two courts.
