The work of Social Services is covered by two departments at Hertfordshire County Council - Children's social care and Adult social services.

Other Support for Children and Families

Services For Children and Young People aged 0-25 with special educational needs or disabilities – provides information about Hertfordshire’s local offer. This includes information on services, activities, support groups, conditions, finance, education and health.

Families First Portal – the portal provides information and guidance for issues affecting your family. It includes information on local services that are available to support you, including those from the voluntary sector.

If you want to talk to children’s services about getting support for your family you can contact them on 0300 123 4043. You can report safeguarding concerns about children to this number as well.

 

Other Support for Adults

Herts Help – provides information on support in a crisis, support in the home (including home security and safety checks), finding the right care, funding your care, as well as help to explain a problem or look for a support service.

You can call them on 0300 123 4044 Monday – Friday 8am-6pm.

Hertfordshire Directory  - provides a wide range of information on adult care and support, education and training, health, and things to do including sports, clubs and hobbies.
