Farm Shops

The list of farm shops was by kindly provided by Farm Locator.


Brookfield Farm– Set in Aston, Stevenage, Brookfield is a family run farm and butchers. They offer award winning meat, including sausages, burgers and bacon, while their pedigree heard of Aberdeen Angus cattle are also prize winning. All their beef and pork comes from their farm, and their animals all have yearly blood tests to check they’re healthy, while the lamb, chicken and eggs are all locally sourced. As well as the shop, Brookfield also run a delivery service.

Church FarmChurch Farm– A hive of activity, Church Farm in Ardeley is a great day out. The shop offers the option of buying or picking your own fresh produce, and also has a farm café and pub on site, with the food served in both making use of the farm’s produce. The shop offers its own range of products, including jams, pickles, ready meals and chutneys, as well as a variety of fruit, vegetables, meat and eggs. If you can’t get to the shop yourself, Church Farm also offer a delivery service. They also work with North Hertfordshire College to provide accredited training to students with learning disabilities.

Dursley Dunsley Farm Shop and Tea Room– Located in Tring, Dunsley Farm Shop stocks locally produced meat, preserves and pickles, and mainly locally growth fruit and vegetables, as well as homemade pies, cakes, soup and bread, logs and coal. Dunsley Farm has also open a tea room, which serves homemade cakes and light snacks.

Ferny HillFerny Hill Farm Shop- Another family business, Ferny Hill Farm is set in South Hertfordshire between Barnet and Cockfosters. Open from Tuesday- Sunday, the products in the farm shop are sourced as locally as possible and all British. For over thirty years the shops has been selling eggs, fruit and vegetables, and has now branched out to offer a fantastic range of products, including homemade cakes, pickles and jams, organic foods, meat and fish, and some gifts and homeware. Alongside the farm shop, Ferny Hill Farm has a traditional English tea room.

Foxholes Foxholes Farm- Based near Hertford, Fox Holes has been farmed by the same family for 100 years. The farm rears its own pigs and cows, while lamb chicken and game are sourced from other local producers. Gammons, hams and bacon is also available, alongside homemade pies and pastries, and British cheeses. They also offer a fruit and vegetables (locally sourced where possible) range of ready meals, organic products and a gluten free range. Hampers, fresh meat and meat boxes can be ordered online, while on the farm itself there is a tea room, and a farm park which is great for a family day out.

Hedges Hedges Farm Shop- Located in St Albans, Hedges Farm Shop specialises in meat. Family run and award winning, Hedges Farm offers grass-fed lamb and natural beef; the animals are not overfed or given any type of food to promote growth, just natural, home produced feed. Hedges Farm also rears its own turkeys for the Christmas season, while their pork, poultry and other meat is locally sourced.

Pearce's Pearce’s Farm Shop and Café- The Pearce family have been farming for 45 years, beginning their farm shop business in 1982 in a shed in a field selling fruit and vegetables. Since then, they’ve also began to grow and sell strawberries, raspberries, asparagus, pumpkins and squash when the season is right, and you can also find fresh and smoked meats, fresh bread daily, and local honey jams and chutneys, amongst other things. As well as the shop, the farm also runs a café which has been built to eco-specification.

P E Mead P E Mead and Sons- Farming in the Chiltern Hills prior to 1860, the sixth generation of the Mead family are now at the helm. The shop as evolved over forty years, and is now house in a Grade II Listed barn, supplying fruit and vegetables, as well as home produce beef and lamb, pet food, compost and firewood. The barn also hosts a tea room and gift shop.

Willows Activity Farm- With activity in its name, you can guarantee that a trip to Willows in St Albans will be great fun for all the family. With shows, tractor rides, fun fair rides, a range of indoor and outdoor activities, and of course a host of farmyard animals, it is definitely worth a trip. Willows has event calendars available on their website to plan you day, and also offers special seasonal events.
