The Council encourages competition and sustainability in all areas of the local economy. It actively promotes the area and offers business development and support.  The Council encourages local residents and communities to consider improvements to the local physical infrastructure and services. Support is given to local community groups in the form of advice, information and grants. Hertfordshire Growth Hub

The Growth Hub aims to be the go-to service for established businesses in the county, with the drive and potential to grow, helping them find and use high quality locally-sourced support and expertise.

The Growth Hub offers free of charge, one-to-one support from experts specialising in skills, finance, technology and productivity, sales and marketing and inward investment. The specialist business advisers will tailor an appropriate action plan and help you find any funding available for it. Events are regularly run across the county and some feature guest presenters and industry experts; allowing SMEs in the county free access to real world advice and insights. Skillmakers

Local businesses looking to train staff or take on new employees will find all the information and guidance they need via a free-to-use service called Skillmakers. Developed in partnership with local employers, it offers a short cut to advice on training and recruitment – including apprenticeships. Support is available online – at Skillmakers.co.uk– and from a team of training professionals with extensive local knowledge. Speak to them for advice on: Upskilling existing staff, recruiting new staff and integrating your business into the community.

Companies and organisations that are looking at potential new investment opportunities can contact our Customer Services Centre on 01923 776611 or e-mail enquiries@threerivers.gov.uk.  The Council may have commercial premises to lease, rent or sale.

New European Money For Hertfordshire Businesses

A new pot of European funding has recently been awarded to Hertfordshire to help local businesses, managed by the Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). The funding will help local businesses. Whatever type of business you are, there is help and support available. There are around 15 free to use schemes and now is the time to find out more.
