Special great war study day at Luton Hoo

This event is being organised and run with our great friends the Hertfordshire Constabulary Great War Society and currently we are allocated half the ticket which is 20 places.
The details are below and if you wish to book a place reply to this email and details of how to pay will be provided - although your booking will be taken by email, your place is not fully confirmed until payment has been received.
Although the day heavily features Luton Hoo, many men from Hertfordshire worked there and the site, talks and men all also relate to Hertfordshire.

The Luton Hoo volunteers have kindly agreed to lay on this very special day just for the Great War Society and Herts at War Learn about the great estates of England and how they coped during the First World War.
What they contributed to the war effort. How their lands and buildings were taken over for military use. How their men and their horses were sent to the front. Standing on the border of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire the Luton Hoo estate reached as far into Hertfordshire as Flamstead and included the farm at Cooter’s End, Harpenden where a very successful school for Land Army Girls was operated.
There will be six lectures, displays including the police officers posted to Luton Hoo and a tour of the grounds to look at some the locations used by our troops We have just 20 places - to book your place or for more information reply to jontywild@hertsatwar.co.uk
