NCS Youth Support Worker - Summer Job

The National Citizen Service (NCS) is a four-week programme that offers young people the opportunity to develop the skills, confidence and attitudes while encouraging engagement with their local community.
The first two weeks of the programme are residential , residing at venues for two consecutive weeks Monday – Fridays and taking part in physical and team building activities which gives the young people a taste of independent living and learning a variety of skills for their future.
The remaining time is spent in the young people’s local districts working on a social action project to help their local community. The programme for 2019 will be running throughout July and August in St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley, Harpenden, Borehamwood / Potters Bar and Tring.
YC Hertfordshire is looking for highly motivated and energetic individuals with experience of working with young people. The role will involve supporting young people to develop personal and social skills through residentials and social action programmes, enabling them to grow in confidence and gain resilience.
Successful candidates will receive paid training and ongoing support in the role, competitive pay (earning on average £1400 per 4 week programme) with travel, accommodation and meals paid for during the residential stay along with the unique opportunity to gain skills and experiences which will enhance their CV.
