Working together to Beat The Killer Cold

21st March 2018

Three Rivers District Council’s Beat the Killer Cold scheme has again raised thousands of pounds to help residents pay their winter fuel bills. The scheme, now almost in its twentieth year, sees the Council match fund donations received from the public.

The total donations received this year were £5,600 and with the Council’s contribution the total available to disburse is £11,200.

Leader of Three Rivers District Council, Cllr Sara Bedford, said: “Three Rivers continues to support elderly and disabled residents with the Beat The Killer Cold initiative, started by the late Cllr Ann Shaw. I am delighted that once again the Council is able to give funds to all residents who applied.

“We will continue to support our residents especially those in financial difficulty to keep warm and healthy.”
