FOLLOW UP REPORT RELATING TO THE DESIGNATED PUBLIC PLACE ORDER (DPPO) IN BOUNDARY WAY, GARSTON |
In August 2006 the Council authorised the use of Designated Public Place Orders (DPPOs) in Chorleywood and Garston. DPPOs make it an offence to drink alcohol after being warned by a Police Constable (PC) or a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) not to do so under the Police and Criminal Justice Act 2001. An evaluation report relating to these two orders was provided to the Regulatory Services Committee on the 3 October 2007. The Committee noted that the Chorleywood DPPO was seen to have had a positive impact on the levels of anti social behaviour in the area but in comparison the Garston DPPO had not had the same impact. The evaluation report recommended that the Community Safety Partnership be asked to review why anti social behaviour reports had continued to increase in the Garston area. |

EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC |
If any confidential business is approved under item 3, it will also be necessary to specify the class of exempt or confidential information in the additional item(s) and a resolution to be passed in the following terms:- |
“that under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined under paragraphs (1-7) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act”. It has been decided by the Council that in all the circumstances, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information. |
