Contributions will be limited to one person speaking for and one against each item for not more than three minutes. Please note that in the event of registering your interest to speak on an agenda item but not taking up that right because the item is deferred, you will automatically be given the right to speak on that item at the next meeting of the Committee. Details of the procedure and the list for registering the wish to speak will be available for a short period before the meeting.

RECYCLING OF YELLOW PAGES

 

This report advises members on the recycling of Yellow Pages, via the Yellow Woods Challenge that was offered to schools for the first time this year and seeks permission to continue this scheme in future years.

ANNUAL REVIEW OF THE FOOD LAW AND HEALTH AND SAFETY LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE PLANS

 

To review the 2006/07 Food Law and Health and Safety Law Enforcement Service Plans; to recommend strategy on the Councils statutory duties for 2007/08 and to recommend the revised plans to Executive Committee.

ENVIRONMENT ACT 1995 - CONSULTATION UPON DRAFT AIR QUALITY ACTION PLAN

 

This report introduces the first draft of an Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP) for the district. The purpose of the plan is to set out how the District Council will take action within its area to reduce air pollution locally, so that pollution within the hotspots near the M25 is reduced to within statutory objectives.

EAST OF ENGLAND REGIONAL SPATIAL STRATEGY: REVIEW- TRAVELLER AND GYPSY ACCOMMODATION

 

To agree the Council’s response to the East of England Regional Assembly’s (EERA) consultation ‘Planning for Gypsy and Traveller accommodation in the East of England: Issues and Options’ (May 2007).

EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

 

If the Committee wishes to consider the remaining items in private, it will be appropriate for a resolution to be passed in the following terms:-

“that under Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined under paragraphs 3,3,3,3 and 1 respectively of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Act. It has been decided by the Council that in all the circumstances, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

(Note: If other confidential business is approved under item 3, it will also be necessary to specify the class of exempt or confidential information in the additional items).

DISPOSAL OF LAND AND BUILDINGS – EBURY ROAD, RICKMANSWORTH

 

To consider the disposal of the land and buildings at Ebury Road, Rickmansworth following the approval of a planning application for development on the land and adjoining property.

To receive the recommendations of the Housing and Environment Policy Panel held on 17 July 2007, in relation to the following items on the agenda for the Executive Committee on 23 July 2007 – to follow

CLEANING OF COMMUNAL AREAS IN COUNCIL OWNED FLAT BLOCKS

 

To advise Members of the tender actions taken and to ask the Panel to recommend that the Executive Committee approve the appointment of the preferred tenderer.

STOCK CONDITION SURVEY

 

To seek approval for the appointment of consultants to carry out a stock condition survey – to follow

RENT ARREARS WRITE OFFS

 

To seek authority to write off two tenants' arrears which arose on former tenancies

4.

HRA CAPITAL PROGRAMME - WORKS FOR DISABLED PEOPLE, PROPOSED GROUND FLOOR EXTENSION AT 17 THE QUEENS DRIVE RICKMANSWORTH

 

This report seeks agreement to carry out major adaptation works for a child with severe physical disabilities. The report sets out the reasons for the recommended works, alternative solutions that have been explored and seeks approval for the total funding which is in excess of the delegated authority (£25,000).
