Three Rivers District Council is a high achieving organisation at the leading edge of public services. On the fringe of London, the District is experiencing significant development pressure, with a variety of planning applications. The District has an excellent built and natural environment, many Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings and major areas of Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a centre for the film industry with Warner Brothers at Leavesden forming part of a studio cluster along with nearby Elstree and Pinewood. We look to promote the highest standards of design through development negotiations and pro-active work.
The roles will focus on the handling of pre-application enquiries, planning applications and subsequent appeals, however, some enforcement work may also be required to assist colleagues within the Compliance Team.
What we are looking for:-
Enthusiastic candidates with environmental awareness and an interest in planning are now required to fill two permanent posts within the Development Management team.
The role may include a combination of handling of pre-application enquiries, planning applications and subsequent appeals and enforcement and project work. Dealing with a varied caseload you will have the potential to develop your career and make an important positive contribution to the local area.
You will need to be well organised with strong verbal, written and presentation skills, and must be able to demonstrate your ability and initiative to handle a diverse and competing workload and work to tight deadlines. Good interpersonal skills will also be necessary as you will be liaising and negotiating with the public, external agents and organisations, Council Members and other Council departments.

You must possess a clean driving license and have daily access to personal transport.
