Get Set Training

Get Set Learn are training courses for people who run sports and leisure activities and are designed to raise awareness of disability, aid access for anyone to take part in a leisure activity and to increase the ability to adapt any activity to meet the needs of each individual who wants to take part.

front-cover.jpgGet Set Training aims to break down some of the barriers to participation and to aid access to sport, leisure and recreational activities for individuals with a disability with our theoretical and practical workshops.

These sessions are designed for sports leaders, leisure staff, teachers, children centre staff, early years settings, after-school club staff, volunteers, in fact, any members of the community who want to develop and encourage participation in sport, leisure and recreational activities for people with disabilities.

All sessions are interactive and ‘hands on’ with activities which include group discussions, games, tutor led information and the use of case studies. Be prepared to have fun! Our sessions are delivered by experienced tutors who specialise in their fields and a certificate of attendance will be provided on completion of each workshop.

Completion of all workshops by staff from your setting, will result in the award of our Disability Awareness Mark. This shows people with a disability that you and your staff provide a welcoming environment for those with a disability and will help them to choose your setting when they are looking at their personal budgets for leisure activities.

Three Rivers District Council aims to make all reasonable adaptions to this leisure service to ensure accessibility for all.

We appreciate everyone is different, and if you require any specific support, please let us know and we will do our utmost to help.
