Youth Council calls for grants for upcoming meeting

Three Rivers' Youth Council is seeking ideas on who to allocate money from their £1,000 grant fund. Therefore, Three Rivers District Council is inviting groups/organisations that provide services or facilities for young people in Three Rivers to apply for a grant to the Council. All applications will be thoroughly considered by Youth Council members.
In order to be considered, you will have to send in an application to the Council by 29 January, ready for members of the Youth Council to discuss at the meeting on 3 February. Grant application forms are now available. You can download an application form below. Telephone 01923 776611.

The Youth Council is open to any young person aged 11-19 who lives or goes to school in the Three Rivers District, and is a great opportunity for young people in Three Rivers to have their say, make a difference in their local community, and have fun. Meetings are very friendly and relaxed, and new faces are always welcome.

The agenda for the meeting on the 3 February (5:30pm till 7:00pm) includes an interactive fencing lesson, learning the rules and skills involved in the sport. Young people, who are interested in attending, can also listen to a speaker from West Herts College who will talk about the food industry and what food-related courses the college offers. In addition, a representative will come to speak from Rockstar Youth, one of the UK’s largest entrepreneurial mentoring organisations. Lastly, it will be decided which local clubs and charities gets donations from the £1000 grant.
