The Big Grow for Panto

21st March 2016

seed-image.jpgThere’s no shortage of things going on at Watersmeet, Rickmansworth and to ensure no one is left out of the fun, they have invited local schools across Three Rivers to join in the Big Grow for Panto.

Suttons Seeds TM have supplied the council with 10,000 seeds, that’s enough for every one of these pupils from Reception to Year 6 to grow their own beanstalk.

Councillor Shaw, Leader of the Council said “This inter-school competition will be fun. It is also a gardening experience and challenge for young people  who may have never planted anything before."

Seeds will be sent out to schools who have indicated they would like to join the Big Grow for Panto in April and progress will be charted in a school competition to see which class can grow the tallest plant before harvesting prior to the summer holiday.

Photos of Big Grow will be encouraged and the class who collectively grows the biggest beanstalk will win tickets to see Jack and the Beanstalk, a GIANT of a pantomime this Christmas at Watersmeet.
