Over 60's accommodation still available
07th February 2007
Older residents living alone in Three Rivers are being reminded that there are still empty sheltered and elderly person's flats available in the district.
Properties are available across Three Rivers, and there are two options. The first is one-bedroom flats which have been designated as 'elderly person's accommodation'. They have security features including a 24-hour emergency alarm system.
The second option is sheltered housing properties, studio and one-bedroom flats available. Sheltered housing includes the benefits of social activities, as there are regular coffee mornings, arts and crafts, bingo, coach trips, and more.
All flats are fully heated and a 24-hour alarm system is fitted.
Councillor Matthew Bedford, Housing portfolio holder, says:
"These flats are a great option for older residents living alone, whose own home may no longer be suitable for a variety of reasons. They combine independent living with support when you need it. There are properties available across the district and there is no waiting list, so please act fast if you are interested."
Some of the flats are on the first floor and are more suitable for those who are more physically mobile.
