Fine for mess
06th January 2015
A resident has been fined after Three Rivers District Council served her with an Abatement Notice. Sonia Cant of Barnhurst Path, South Oxhey, was served the notice for the accumulation of an unacceptable number of deposits of dogs’ mess in her back garden.
The tenant failed to clear the garden in the required time and was prosecuted for Breach of Notice.
Three Rivers’ lead member for housing, planning and strategic schemes, Martin Trevett, said:
“We all have a responsibility to be considerate neighbours and not cause a nuisance. I’m pleased that this action was taken.”
Ms Cant pleaded guilty at Watford Magistrates Court on 19 December 2014 and was fined £100 plus £200 costs and £20 victim compensation.
The Abatement Notice was issued under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
