Double ads prosecution

Two sentences have been passed by Hemel Magistrates Court for illegal adverts, the District Council announced today.
Tina and Nathan Jordan were each fined £500 and ordered to each pay costs of £195 for posting without planning consent Logs for Sale posters at Paddock Farm in Little Oxhey Lane. An additional surcharge of £15 for the victim was also imposed payable to a central fund to help victims of crime.
Meanwhile, Michael Maynard was fined £500 for fly posting at Chorleywood Road at Junction 18 of the M25. Mr Maynard is connected to Winkers Farm Country Club in Denham Lane. Mr Maynard was also ordered to pay costs of £390.
Chair of the Three Rivers Development Control Committee, Cllr Geoff Dunne, said:
“Adverts can be unsightly if used inappropriately. If in doubt, we advise businesses to contact the District Council for guidance because we will continue to prosecute.”
