The Policy and Scrutiny Committee welcomes contributions from members of the public to its discussion on agenda items.  Contributions will be limited to one person speaking for and one against each item for not more than three minutes.  Please note that, in the event of registering your interest to speak on an agenda item but not taking up that right because the item is deferred, you will automatically be given the right to speak on that item at the next meeting of the Policy and Scrutiny Committee.  Details of the procedure and the list for registering the wish to speak will be available for a short period before the meeting.

PRIVATE WATER SUPPLY REGULATIONS 2009

 

To advise Members of the Private Water Supply Regulations 2009 that came into force on 1 January 2010 and the schedule of fees that the Council may charge for risk assessments, investigations, sampling and analysis.

BUDGET MONITORING REPORT – (MONTH 11)

 

This report seeks approval to changes in the approved medium-term financial plan based on information contained in the Financial Position Statement for the period ending February 2010 (Month 11) (circulated separately).

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SERVICE PLANS 2009/12 - MONITORING AND REPORTING FRAMEWORK - 2009/10 YEAR END REVIEW

 

The purpose of reporting the Service Plans to the Policy and Scrutiny Committees is to enable Members to monitor ongoing performance against a range of issues and to question the Heads of Service on these and other service related matters.

ANNUAL REVIEW OF THE FOOD LAW AND HEALTH AND SAFETY LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE PLANS

 

To review the 2010/11 Food Law and Health and Safety Law Enforcement Service Plans; to recommend strategy on the Council’s statutory duties for 2010/11 and to obtain Committee approval for the proposals.

To advise Members of the limited space remaining within Woodcock Hill cemetery and notify them of a request from two members of the public to rescind their previous decision to not allow the pre-purchasing of graves.

POLICY WITH RESPECT TO UNAUTHORISED CAMPING

 

A report setting out the Council’s revised policy with respect to unauthorised camping on its land, or private land, which is within the jurisdiction of Three Rivers District Council.

EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

 

If the Committee wishes to consider the remaining item in private, it will be appropriate for a resolution to be passed in the following terms:-

 

            “that under Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined under Paragraphs (1-7) of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Act.  It has been decided by the Council that in all the circumstances, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.”
