The following questions have been received from Councillor Harry Davies to the portfolio holder for the Environment, Councillor Martin Trevett:-

“Would the Environment Portfolio Holder please inform the Council as to the implications for Three Rivers District Council's Green Belt policy as a result of the Government's proposed changes to planning legislation that will create a 'presumption in favour of sustainable development'. Does he agree that the proposed policy will make it harder for the Council to oppose developments that the Council had previously considered inappropriate?  Will the Portfolio Holder undertake to keep Council members fully apprised of the likely effects of the new legislation, and undertake to oppose robustly any aspects of the proposed legislation that would adversely impact not only upon our Green Belt, but all areas within the authority of Three Rivers District Council?”
