Leavesden Park

Development company MEPC has submitted planning applications for the redevelopment of the former Leavesden Aerodrome and adjoining land.

The applications include a new film studio and a major office scheme for media, telecommunications and technology companies. There will also be a health centre, shops, gymnasium, restaurant and nature reserve as well as internal roads and paths, car parking and landscaped areas.
A new road, which would be parallel to the existing spine road, would be created to serve the development as a direct link from the A41 eastbound slip road.

The site includes Leavesden film studios which produced the Harry Potter films.

Following earlier extensive consultation, refinements to the proposals have been prepared and the application has also been amended to modify the access arrangements. MEPC now also intend to relocate the playing fields and pitches and build the development in phases. As a result of these amendments a fresh Environmental Impact Assessment has now been prepared and a further period of public consultation is currently underway.
