Think outside the blocks!

Public toilets have just become more pleasant thanks to an initiative by the District Council. Local organisations have volunteered to allow the public to use their facilities during normal opening hours.
Three Rivers' Phil Brading, portfolio holder for public services and health, said:
"The old automatic toilets were unpopular and expensive. Using facilities within existing venues is proving very successful.
"Toilets inside venues are also safer and better maintained than the old fashioned toilet blocks. Because there are staff on-site the facilities are much less likely to be vandalised - which means no clean-up bills for tax payers."
Members of the scheme are: The Royal Oak, Abbots Langley; Budgens, Chorleywood; The Centre, South Oxhey; YMCA Woodlands, Leavesden; The Harvester, Croxley Green.
The Fox and Hounds public house in Croxley Green has been the latest venue to offer support with the scheme going live from Wednesday 4 November 2009 following the completion of a successful pilot on 3 November.
Public toilet facilities are also available at Three Rivers House, Rickmansworth and next to the Café in the Park, Aquadrome.
