Contact Details: Waste Collection

Heathside Close - recycling collections.
We were unable to collect the recycling in Heathside Close on Wednesday 1st September (a day later than normal due to the Bank Holiday) due to vehicles blocking access. We will return as soon as possible so please leave your boxes out. Any extra recycling can be placed in carrier bags (not black bags) next to the boxes.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We've been listening....

Heavy brown bins
We have received a number of calls from people whose brown bins have disappeared on collection days.  Upon checking our records we can see that the crews reported that, as these bins were too heavy, they fell into the back of the lorry.  We will replace your brown bin, but would ask all residents to ensure that they do not overfill the brown bins. If you brown bin feels heavy to move please keep some back for the next collection.

Contaminated brown bins
We send out letters to people who contaminate their brown bins, so they know what they did wrong and can correct it in future.  Unfortunately we have sent a few letters to incorrect addresses as it is difficult for our crews to determine which bin belongs to which house.  It would be really helpful if residents could number their bins to help us reduce this problem.

Not enough recycling boxes?
Now that many more types of plastics and cartons can be recycled if you feel you need extra capacity please contact us and we can arrange for more boxes to be delivered.

Thank you for your assistance with these matters.

Check out the new website www.ourclimateischanging.com, which includes a short video about how to use your kitchen caddy.

The Council provides a green bin for domestic waste that cannot be recycled or composted.

We also provide recycling boxes for the kerbside collection of paper, glass, cans, cartons and plastics and a brown bin for the kerbside collection of garden waste, most cardboard and food waste.
