Voluntary Organisations

The Centre for Voluntary Service in Three Rivers is an umbrella body that offers support, advice, information and training to the voluntary and community groups of the district. Our services include volunteer brokerage through our Volunteer Centre; a supported volunteering project, Threshold, which helps people with extra support needs to find appropriate voluntary work and support them until they are comfortable; and the Community Gardening Project which aims to regenerate allotments and disused land around the district by setting up gardening courses and healthy eating workshops.

Our membership stands at about 150 organisations at any one time. They work on a wide range of issues from childcare to transport, and we maintain contact with them through our bi-monthly newsletter, and our quarterly Voluntary Sector Forum to which all are invited. We hold other occasional events such as community lunches, and our Volunteer Centre goes out regularly into different parts of the community to promote volunteering.
