Tree works outside Three Rivers House

Date:  14 July 2012

Pedestrian access to Three Rivers House will be restricted whilst work is carried out on a tree outside the council offices.

Tests have shown that one of the large Cedar trees outside the District Council offices, which is on the right hand side as you look from the rose garden, is in a declining condition with the soil in a poor state. Officers from the Trees and Landscape section are implementing a care programme to improve the condition of the soil.

Part of this process is to water the soil area in the mornings over six weeks. The water will be taken from the Aquadrome and stored rain water from the roof of Three Rivers House. Water will not be taken from the mains supply.

In order to complete the works it will be necessary to lift some of the paving slabs surrounding the tree. This will mean that public access to the front of Three Rivers House will be restricted. Work is scheduled to start 14 July 2012.

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes. Please contact the Trees and Landscape section on 01923 776611 if you have any queries.
