The Café in the Park is the new name and concept in park cafés. No longer the place to stop for an expensive ice cream and bad coffee.

The Cafe in the Park has been trading from the small kiosk in the Aquadrome for the past three years by a family run business that believe in putting quality before cost. They are committed to serving fresh, homemade, great tasting food at sensible prices. with a family friendly environment where adults and children can have fun and feel relaxed together in an informal setting. The outdoor cafe is fenced in to keep the children on one side and the wildlife on the other. The toy corner is always well stocked and even the dogs are catered for with water bowls and free dog chews.

With the support of many local residents a new indoor cafe will be built at the Aquadrome. On a sunny day, they are simply not able to cope with the huge numbers of customers that visit the aquadrome and want to stop for lunch, a coffee or an ice cream. The new cafe will also be open throughout the winter making it a year-round catering facility.

The building of the cafe is due to start in June 2008 with completion expected before the end of the year. The new building will be a traditional timber build, clad in larch it will sit comfortably in this natural environment and only enhance the surroundings, not detract from them as the unsightly kiosk does today. The new cafe will seat around 70 customers inside with further seating outdoors, an activities room will allow us to offer the perfect setting for adult and children's classes. You can see the plans for the new cafe here.

The outdoor cafe is now open Wednesday to Sunday (plus bank holidays) from 10am to 5pm.
