Contact Details: The Big Spend

The Youth Opportunity Fund and Youth Capital Fund, known locally as The Big Spend, are now into their second full year in Hertfordshire, which is great news for young people in the county. Both funds aim to give young people aged 13-19 years (or up to 25 years for those with a disability or learning difficulties) an opportunity to bid for positive activities or services that they want in their area.

In Hertfordshire we have already allocated over £2million to young people led projects through these funds and engaged over 30 young people in a decision making capacity. We have another combined budget of over £1million to allocate this year and are welcoming suitable bids particularly for the Youth Opportunity Funds (YOF). The YOF money is for revenue costs such as staff, professional expertise, venue/facilities hire and small equipment purchases (under £2000). The Youth Capital Fund (YCF) is grant funding for equipment and/or building work, such as the improvement of a facility for young people.
