Take away a high score for Chinese New Year

Date:  16 February 2010

We are advising people to bring in the Year of the Tiger with an eye on food safety in Three Rivers. If you are celebrating Chinese New Year you can check hygiene ratings for local food venues here with our Scores on the Doors initiative.

Tangs' Scores on the Doors
Three Rivers' Cabinet Member for Public Services and Health, Cllr Phil Brading, said:

"Whether enjoying a takeaway or dining out for Chinese New Year, we hope you will use the Scores on the Doors ratings to help you choose a clean and safe eatery.

"Since 2007 the scheme has promoted a rise in hygiene standards across Three Rivers. By checking a restaurant’s scores before eating out you can help continue to put pressure on venues to improve their hygiene standards. We will continue to prosecute venues for serious breaches in hygiene."

You can view the list, which also includes business canteens, schools, sheltered housing schemes and other venues with catering facilities here.

Some neighbouring boroughs also run Scores on the Doors including Watford www.watford.gov.uk and Hertsmere www.hertsmere.gov.uk.
