Submerge yourself with free swimming this holiday

Three Rivers District Council will continue to fund free swimming sessions for under 19s at leisure centres throughout the district this Christmas holiday.
This scheme will run over the holidays from Saturday 17 December 2011 to Monday 2 January 2012 (excluding days that the venues are closed, please contact the venues to check).
Councillor Keith Williams, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said:
“I am delighted that we are able to offer free swimming for under 19s in Three Rivers over the Christmas Holiday.
The free swim has been a very popular scheme and many young people have not only taken advantage of it, but are leading healthier lifestyles as a result. As well as being enjoyable, swimming is an important personal safety skill and can open the door to many other water based activities like sailing and scuba diving.”
To take advantage of the swim scheme, simply visit one of the participating pools and complete a brief form to receive your membership card. It can take up to two days for the venue to process your membership and you will need to take ID with you.
Once you receive your card, you will be able to swim during general public and fun inflatable sessions at William Penn Leisure Centre in Rickmansworth. Sir James Altham Swimming Pool in South Oxhey and Watford Leisure Centre Woodside* in Watford. Details of the times of these sessions are available directly from the participating venues.
