Private Housing

As it has become increasingly difficult to obtain rented accommodation from Housing Associations,  the Council's Housing Needs and Strategy department offers advice on how and where to look for housing in the private sector.

There is information for landlords and tenants about the Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme.

There is also information and guidance on seeking private accommodation.

The Council can provide some grants to assist home owners with the improvement and maintenance of their homes.

The Tenancy Agreement Service is a legal information resource providing information on aspects of housing law in England and Wales.
