The Development Control department deals with Planning Applications.

The department is also responsible for Planning Policy, which includes the Local Plan and the Local Development Framework.

The Development Control Committee is a regulatory Committee of the Council, established to be responsible for development control and related town and country planning matters. The main function of this Committee is to determine applications for planning permission.
