No registration, no vote. Don’t miss out!

Date:  21 August 2008

Make sure you don’t lose your right to vote, or affect your ability to obtain credit - confirm your details on the annual household voting registration form you receive through the post as soon as possible.

All households in Three Rivers will receive these forms through the letterbox in the next few days. By law, we have to send them out to you, and you have to complete and return it to Three Rivers District Council either through the post or online as soon as possible, even if there is no change in circumstances. Returning the form ensures all voters in the household are officially registered to vote in upcoming elections.

Remember the Electoral Register is not only used for voting purposes; it is also used to check identity when applying for credit. Failure to be included on the Register can therefore affect residents’ ability to obtain credit, such as when applying for a mortgage.

Finally, residents can also help the District Council save time and money by returning these forms promptly, reducing the need to print and deliver reminder letters. District Council staff will soon be knocking on the doors of residents who have not yet returned their forms to remind them.

Remember! Failure to submit the forms will mean residents cannot vote and may make applying for credit more difficult, so don’t delay!

For more information or advice, residents can ring the District Council on 01923 776611 (minicom 01923 727 303) or visit the Electoral Registration page on the website.
