Six pubs across Abbots Langley, Rickmansworth, Croxley Green and Chorleywood have been warned to 'keep the noise down' by Three Rivers District Council.
The landlords, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were called into the Council offices by environmental health experts last week after residents complained about noise coming from open pub windows and gardens.
Three Rivers' Licensing Committee Chairman, Councillor Chris Brearley, said:
"We have met with these landlords to make our position clear. Although music in pubs can be popular with all ages, it is completely unacceptable if neighbours are disturbed.
"Residents are entitled to a peaceful night's sleep and we would encourage them to complain to us if they are being bothered by pub music."
Councillor Brearley added:
"Our message to landlords is simple. If you can hear music at the boundary of your premises then your neighbours probably can too. If necessary, we will review your licence and may revoke music rights."
Residents can complain about noise pollution to Three Rivers District Council.
