William Penn Leisure Centre is owned and funded by Three Rivers District Council and is managed by Hertsmere Leisure.
The venue offers something for everyone with a wide range of fitness and leisure activities for all ages and abilities. Facilities include:

Three Rivers District Council has contributed £2 million towards the construction of this site which includes a swimming pool and learner pool, a sports hall, a state of the art gym and over 100 excercise classes per week, a sauna, creche, cafeteria, and treatment rooms. Three Rivers residents can use this venue for the same rate as Watford residents. Residents can also SwimforFree here.

This modern building was originally a Physiotherapy Development Unit on the Leavesden Hospital site and was acquired by Three Rivers Leisure from the Health Authority, when it was no longer required.

Watford YMCA was awarded the lease to develop and refurbish the building as a leisure facility and the centre opened in September 1998.
YMCA Woodlands has a fully equipped gymnasium and a dance studio with fully sprung floor, offering a variety of fitness classes including Tae Kwon Do, aerobics, circuits and Fit For Life 50+.

There is a completely self-contained child care unit with security entrance, equipped to a very high standard for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The "Partners Nursery", as the unit is called, adheres to the National Curriculum and has fully qualified staff.
