Last chance to shape the future!

Date:  26 July 2006

PR Reference No.: Last chance to shape future!

Three Rivers residents are being reminded that time is running out to take part in an important new consultation on plans for the future of land use in the district.

The Planning Your Future survey is part of a new plan for the district which the Council is preparing for the next fifteen years to 2021. The plan will set out where new houses, jobs, shops and services will go, and how this can be balanced with protecting the open space and Green Belt land in the district.

Councillor Martin Trevett, Environment Portfolio Holder, says:

"This new plan will be directly relevant to every single resident in the district. It will affect where and how they live, shop, work and play. We strongly urge everyone to have their say before the consultation closes. All comments will be read by us and may have a direct effect on the Council's plans."

The consultation closes at the end of July but submissions will be considered if they are received in the first two weeks of August.

Everyone who completes the survey before the end of July will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win an Olympus X-715 digital camera, which features 5 megapixels, 1.5 inch LCD screen, 28mb internal memory, and motion picture recording.

Copies of the Planning Your Future survey are included in the summer edition of Three Rivers Times. Further copies are available from Three Rivers House, Rickmansworth; from all local libraries and Council leisure facilities; or by calling 01923 727106. The more detailed document, Core Strategy: Issues and Options, together with a downloadable questionnaire is also available on the Local Development Framework page below.
