PR Reference No.: Landlords Forum announces new Housing Benefit leaflet
Local landlords and estate agents attended a presentation on the role of the Rent Service in setting rent levels for properties in the private sector where tenants are on housing benefit. Simon Hart, Senior Benefits Officer, gave a talk on a new leaflet produced by the Benefits Department, giving advice and help to landlords who house people on Housing Benefit.
The landlords were all updated on the Deposit Guarantee Scheme which aims to support local residents to find a home and to prevent homelessness by providing a deposit for those local residents who cannot provide one.
The talk on the role of the rent service was given by Lesley Meredith, the Valuation Team Manager from Luton and Cambridge Rent Service. Leaflets are available from us by e-mailing enquiries@threerivers.gov.uk or telephoning 01923 776611.
The next Landlords' Forum will be held in the New Year. Anyone considering renting out a property or a room in their home, or wishing to be placed on the Landlords' mailing list, can contact us on enquiries@threerivers.gov.uk or telephone 01923 776611. Residents can also call us for free advice on Housing Benefit eligibility.
