Join ‘Team Three Rivers’ at the Herts Youth Games
Date:
04 May 2012
Trials are taking place over the next few weeks as Three Rivers District Council recruits members for ‘Team Three Rivers’ at the Herts Youth Games on Sunday 8 July.
Tom Darlington, Sports Development Officer at Three Rivers District Council, said:
“There are still some places left to fill including in teams for badminton, hockey, netball and Aquathlon. You don’t need to have played the sports before and trials are free, so it’s a great opportunity to come along and try out a new sport. All trials and training is led by fully qualified coaches.”
The Herts Youth Games takes place at Hertfordshire Sports Village in Hatfield on the Sunday 8 July and involves over 1,000 young competitors from across the county. Competitors at the games will also get a chance to see the Olympic Torch which is due to pass by on the day of the games.
Tom added:
“It should be a great day and a fantastic celebration of sport as we near the Olympics. Fingers crossed for the weather as last year was a bit of a downpour. We might even discover the next Usain Bolt or Jessica Ennis living here in Three Rivers.”
