The Three Rivers ICT service provides Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services to the majority of staff working for the Council. The current ICT team is made up of 8 staff, who provide a range of services to both internal and external customers. The majority of ICT customers are the staff who provide frontline services to the public, although there is an important element of the ICT operation, namely the management of this website, which is a direct interface with the public.

The Authority has outsourced its ICT services to an external contractor since 1985. The current provider is Steria Ltd. Within the contract, there are a number of key service elements required to ensure services run smoothly and that the best possible facilities are available to staff to assist them in providing high quality services to the public. The elements of the outsourced contract include:

  • Server Management
  • Application Support
  • Hardware and Software Support
  • IT Training
  • Strategic advice And Consultancy

The remaining elements of ICT provision, including telephony and the strategic planning for the Customer Services Centre, are managed within the Client ICT team located within the Strategic Services directorate of the Council. In addition to the services mentioned above, the internal client team also provides contract management services, project management, system administration and document management services.
