Please note that there will be a presentation before the meeting. The presentation will start at 7.00pm and will be presented by the Council's Economic Development Manager on her work with local business over the last year and what is planned for the future. All Members are invited to attend.


The Panel welcomes contributions from members of the public to its discussion on agenda items. Contributions will be limited to one person speaking for and one against each item for not more than three minutes. Please note that, in the event of registering your interest to speak on an agenda item but not taking up that right because the item is deferred, you will automatically be given the right to speak on that item at the next meeting of the Panel. Details of the procedure and the list for registering the wish to speak will be available for a short period before the meeting.

SUPPORTING PEOPLE

This report proposes that a growth bid of £138,120 be included in the 2007-2010 Housing Service Plan for the year 2008/09 in order that the Council can maintain the Supporting People sheltered housing services.

HARI (Housing and Regeneration Initiative) PREFERRED DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP (PDP) PROTOCOL AND SECTION 106 CODE OF CONDUCT

To seek Members comments on HARI's proposed Preferred Development Partner Protocol and Section 106 Code of Conduct for affordable housing. Members comments will be passed on to the HARI Board on the 13 November 2006. (report to follow)

LDF CORE STRATEGY: ISSUES AND OPTIONS CONSULATION

This report sets out the results of the public consultation carried out on the Core Strategy: Issues and Options Paper during the Spring and Summer of 2006. It also sets out how Core Strategy will be progressed to the next stage of its development (the 'Preferred Options' stage).

EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

If the Panel wishes to consider the remaining item in private, it will be appropriate for a resolution to be passed in the following terms:

"that under Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph (3) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act."

If any confidential business is approved under Item 3, it will also be necessary to specify the class of exempt or confidential information in the additional item(s).

APPOINTMENT OF CONSULTANT TO MANAGE HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORT PROJECTS

To recommend a process for the appointment of a consultant to manage the Council's programme of highways and transport schemes.
