Housing Allocations
Three Rivers District Council has agreed in principal to use a Choice Based Lettings Scheme as the best approach for the future allocation of social housing. Choice-based lettings will allow us to advertise our available homes and you are then asked to express an interest in the property you would like to live in. A new lettings banding system is being developed to prioritise applicants.
We are now in the process of changing our Allocations Policy. We are seeking your views on the proposed draft Allocations Policy and Choice-based lettings scheme. These documents can be downloaded below.

The Housing Register is a list of Council, housing association tenants and people who need alternative accommodation. This accommodation may be from the Council, housing associations, private landlord or a shared ownership property. In order to deal with applications as fairly as possible, the Council has a points scheme to assess housing need and allocate properties accordingly. Council tenants who live in Three Rivers District will be automatically put on the mutual exchange scheme.
The Housing Allocations Policy explains how Council and Housing Association properties are allocated. It includes how the points system works and which size property you could expect with your family make up.
