Looking back...

During summer 2010, a pilot playscheme ran at Maple Cross JMI school. Children enjoyed a fun packed three weeks with the chance to play dodgeball, climb trees, build dens, make bracelets, draw on the playground with chalk, play football and cricket, cook, play on the Nintendo Wii, make a volcano and fly kites!

At Divine Saviour playscheme in Abbots Langley, the staff and children played tennis, made collages, played parachute games, had parties, made nachos and pizzas, iced biscuits, played rounders, made mardi gras masks, cooked hot dogs, played hockey and basketball and submitted entries into a Thrive Homes art competition.

At Yorke Mead, there was a nature hunt, a festival, paper mache, egg dropping, manhunt, relay races, making Hawaiian costumes, clay, face painting, fruit kebabs, flag making, camp fires, tree climbing, a talent show and much much more.

The playschemes also had visits from the police and fire services to talk to the children about what they do, and the children enjoyed a drumming workshop, a sensory trolley, rocketball, Ultimate Frisbee and the Playscheme Film Project.

Here's what some of the parents and children at playscheme thought:

"I would like to thank you and all your wonderful staff who run the playscheme, you all do a great job"
"Thank all of you again your scheme gives so many children a good time"
"Although he was very shy at first the staff were fantastic with him and he had a really good day"
"The staff were great - please pass on our thanks"
