Using our website and finding your way around the site
At the top of the page is an Accessibility link. This describes how to use shortcuts on the website and lists the accessibility protocols.
The search box allows you to search all the content on the site. Use keywords rather than sentences. The results page will show a link, a content type and a description of the content.
The links below the Search box are quick links that allow you to access popular areas of the site from any page.
The A to Z menu has basic information on our services, sorted alphabetically with contact information and links to more detailed content on the site.
On the left hand side of every page is a green menu. This lists the section you are currently in, and the categories within that section. These categories are used to organise the great variety of detailed information available on our site. This is the Electronic Government Category Listing (EGCL). The items on this menu are nationally relevant. There is also a brown menu, which allows you to access our online services and payments and an orange menu, which has items specific to Three Rivers District Council, our public meetings, Councillors and the Community Noticeboard.
To assist you with moving back and forth between the pages there is a "bread crumb trail" at the top of each page under the A - Z menu. This tells you where you are in the site, for example, if you were on the page with information about flytipping, you would see the following:
Home > Environment and Planning>Street Care and Cleaning>Flytipping
This represents the path from the home page to the page you are currently looking at. You can use it to revisit previous pages, or you may prefer to use your web browser's back button.
The website contains documents that can be downloaded. Many are in Portable Document Format (PDF). For information about the Accessibility options in Adobe Acrobat Reader, visit Access Adobe at http://access.adobe.com
