Health, Social Care and Benefits
This section includes information about NHS Hertfordshire, which co-ordinates health services for the local community. Primary Care means care which is provided by GPs, practice nurses, health visitors, district nurses, therapists, dentists, pharmacists and optometrists. These services are called primary because they are usually the first points of contact when you are ill or need advice about health matters.
There is also information about how to claim various benefits and a link to the Pension Service, who provide Winter Fuel Payments for most people aged 60 and over.
There is also information about Social Services, provided by Hertfordshire County Council.
