Get on the register, reminds District Council

Date:  28 February 2006

Three Rivers District Council is reminding local residents this week that the deadline to register to vote in local elections is fast approaching.

Those eligible to vote must register with the Council by 13 March to be able to vote on 4 May, when 16 seats are up for election. A Parish Council election will also take place in Chorleywood.

The District Council provides a wide range of services in Three Rivers which affect everyone's lives, such as refuse collection and recycling, leisure facilities and activities, parks and open spaces, and benefits payments.

The District Council has backed the Electoral Commission's campaign 'Your town, your street, your say' encouraging people to register to vote on 4 May.
