Free lightbulbs now across district
Date:
21 March 2007
Residents can now claim a free lightbulb worth £2.50 at their Parish Council. The giveaway scheme has been promoted as part of a mail out of energy saving guides by the District Council to all Three Rivers households. The lightbulbs are funded by a Government scheme.
Residents simply need to take the letter which came with their energy guide to their Parish Council during its normal opening hours. Residents are advised to ring their Parish Council to check opening hours and bulb availability before claiming. South Oxhey residents can to go to the District Council's Area Office in Oxhey Drive rather than the nearby Watford Rural Parish Council office. Residents can also pick up a bulb from Three Rivers District Council at Three Rivers House in Rickmansworth.
The One Stop Shop at Three Rivers District Council in Rickmansworth is open for visitors from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 5pm Fridays (excluding Bank Holidays). Three Rivers District Council's South Oxhey Area Housing Office is open between 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday and from 9am to 4pm on Friday.
Residents who are frail or housebound can ring Three Rivers District Council to arrange delivery 01923 776611 (minicom 01923 727 303) enquiries@threerivers.gov.uk. Contact details for Parish Councils are also available from the District Council on the website.
All claimants are asked to bring proof of address. Households which have claimed free bulbs under previous initiatives before March 2007 may claim another bulb. The offer is limited to one bulb per household.
If any resident has not received an energy guide and letter they can contact Three Rivers District Council 01923 776611 (minicom 01923 727 303) enquiries@threerivers.gov.uk to arrange delivery.
