Following the renovation, the Hall enjoys an extended modern kitchen, good access for disabled people and double glazing. Chorleywood Parish Council will be running the Hall as a Charitable Trust and will undertake full repairs and maintenance for the Hall under a 25 year lease from the District Council.

Speaking after a special handover ceremony at the Hall on Tuesday, Three Rivers District Council Chairman, Councillor David Major, said:

"This is a small but well-used  venue, popular with many community groups. The Hall will be well cared for by the Parish Council and we hope that residents will feel the benefit of the modernised facilities."

The popular venue is used by Women's Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) for their Meals on Wheels service and a number of other local groups including the Chorleywood Bridge Club, Mother and Child group, Music Academy as well as private parties and charity meetings.

Chorleywood Parish Council Chairman, Councillor Max Green, said:

"The Hall opening was a very successful event. The handover to the Parish Council was carried out by Three Rivers' Chairman, David Major and Chief Executive, Steven Halls, with myself.

"The Parish Council is very pleased to take repsonsibility for Bullsland Hall. We will do our best to accommodate local parishioners and particularly the dedicated volunteers of the WRVS Meals on Wheels service."

To book the Hall residents can ring Chorleywood Parish Council between 9am and 1pm Monday to Friday on 01923 285594.

Bullsland Hall was built in 1961 by Chorleywood Urban District Council.
