Boys and girls come out to play this Easter
Date:
30 March 2011
The improved weather has brought children out to play early this year. With the start of British Summertime and Easter just around the corner there are lots of different ways for you to get your children out there and having fun.
“Free play is something we encourage as a District Council” says Lucy Howell, Play Development Officer. “We find that children express themselves if they are given control of their own play opportunities and thoroughly enjoy the independence that this provides.”
All Three Rivers District Council play staff undertake various play training, First Aid and Safeguarding courses before they work and are always coming up with new and exciting play opportunities for the children. This Easter on selected dates at our various venues there will be a cartoonist helping the children to develop their drawing skills, a Brazilian football workshop and outdoor/indoor games, sports, cooking, den building, themed days and lots more.
“Our Playschemes provides not only an affordable childcare option, but also give children access to lots of new activities that they haven’t previously experienced.”
One over 8 regular at Yorke Mead, Luke Simpson said “My brother and I have been to lots of other Playschemes but this one is definitely my favourite. There is always lots going on, but you never feel pressured into doing anything you don’t want to”.
