Skaters, bladers, scooters and BMXers compete in Croxley Skate Park
Plenty of eye-catching flips and tricks were on show last Saturday (21 August) as Croxley Green Skate Park played host to a Skate Jam; whilst Sunday (22 August) saw the turn of the BMX bikers to take centre stage.
With prizes ranging from t-shirts and gloves to decks and DVDs over 110 young people, aged between 8 and 25 years-old, took part in the two day event organised by the leisure team.
The event was well supported by Rogue, Carhart, Vans, Sputnik and Bicycle Union who kindly donated the prizes on offer. Some of the youngsters also got in on the act by volunteering their time to judge and announce the categories over the PA system.
Other activities on offer included inflatable sumo suits and a smoothie bar provided by Youth Connexions as well as a graffiti artist to support the event and provide further entertainment. Local PCSOs were on hand all weekend to security mark bikes and take in the stunts.
Jenna Selby provided the photography over both days and has produced a short film of each day which you will be able to view very soon.
