Best Value
Best Value is a Government initiative to make local authority services better and more efficient. As from 1 April 2000, all local authorities have had a duty of Best Value. By the end of June each year, it must publish a Performance Plan which gives details about the authority's approach to Best Value, its performance compared with other councils, future performance targets, the outcome of service reviews, external inspections etc.
