Art Society features in new Artistsmeet exhibition
Date:
15 May 2012
Rickmansworth and District Art Society’s spring display will feature as the first community exhibition of 2012 at Artistsmeet, the new gallery located in the foyer of Watersmeet.
The exhibition will be on display at Artistsmeet from 15 May to 5 June, giving the societies members a chance to exhibit their work in the best possible setting and to a wider audience.
Councillor Keith Williams, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Community, said:
“With a range of unique high quality artists this is another fantastic exhibition at Artistsmeet and I hope there will be many local residents interested in visiting the gallery.”
Artistsmeet is committed to providing an exhibition space to support local art groups. All Artistsmeet exhibitions are free to attend and are open during Watersmeet Box Office hours which are currently Monday to Friday from 10am – 4pm.

Rickmansworth and District Art Society
Formed in the 1950's to provide an opportunity for local amateur artists to exhibit, socialise and learn. They meet monthly throughout the winter for demonstrations by professional artists and during Ricky Week in early May, they stage their annual Spring Exhibition.
A popular activity in recent years has been the painting of a large mural to coincide with the Canal Festival, which is displayed on the waterfront wall of Tesco. Members also exhibit at other local venues such as the foyer of Three Rivers House and the Environment tent at the Canal Festival.
