Affordable Housing Development

The provision of housing is one of the most important issues facing the District. Our aim is meet the housing needs of the whole community by providing a choice of housing in terms of affordability, size and type. The demand for affordable housing in Three Rivers exceeds supply and a shortage of land; a growing population and high prices all contribute to housing pressures. Therefore, maximising the development of affordable housing in partnership with Registered Social Landlords and Private Developer is our priority.

The Council’s Housing Strategy 2006 – 11 sets a target of developing 75 new affordable homes a year. The table below show what has been achieved or planned.
