Herts Youth Games - Representing Your District With Pride

SAVE THE DATE - SUNDAY 8 JULY 2012

Herts Youth Games 2011On Saturday 18 June 2011, over 60 young people from across the District represented Three Rivers at the Herts Youth Games. The annual multi-sports event took place at the Herts Sports Village in Hatfield, where young people from the ten districts of the County compete against one another across a variety of sports.

All of the teams did extremely well, with the highlight coming from the Kwik Cricket team. With children from South Oxhey, Chorleywood and Mill End, the Three Rivers team beat Watford in a close final to win the competition. Further notable results came from the second placed badminton team, and the forth place girls football team.

Herts Youth Games 2011Tom Darlington, Three Rivers Sport Development Officer said, “It was a fantastic day, where all of our District competitors performed extremely well. Everyone who took part had a great time, and contributed to our respectable overall finishing position of seventh.

The Council would like to thank all the children who represented the District on the day, and all those that took part in the trials beforehand. We hope to see lots more children involved in the Herts Youth Games 2012! To find out more about HYG 2012 please visit www.hertsyouthgames.co.uk
